General William Boykin was one of the original members of the US Army's Delta Force, participated in US Army Special Operations, including Desert One and the mission to rescue American hostages held in Iran. He also led the invasions of Grenada and Panama, accepted the surrender of Manuel Noriega, and headed the chase to capture Colombian drug czar Pablo Escobar.
In 1993, he clashed with Muslim warlord, Osman Atto, in Somalia, chronicled in the film Black Hawk Down. Later, William Boykin commanded all of the Army's Green Berets, as well as the Army’s Special Warfare Center at Fort Bragg. General Boykin also served a tour with the CIA and participated in clandestine operations around the world.
He served the last four years of his 36-year career as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in Washington, DC. Today he is an ordained minister with a passion for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
